Apple fans who can’t wait to see the highly anticipated iPhone 6 brings may enjoy a glimpse of what is purported to be the upcoming smartphone. Nowhereelse.fr recently shared images of a thinner Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) smartphone that looks fairly similar to the HTC One.

What the iPhone 6 images show

If the images shown are correct, the iPhone 6 will feature a metal body. The phone will also likely come in two size variations, including a smaller 4.7 inch smartphone that is about the same size as the HTC One and a larger version that measures 5.5 inches.

Fans will also notice in a change in button placement from the photos. Currently, the iPhone features the power button at the top of the device, but the leaked images show the power button on the side of the device. However, the lock and volume buttons remain the same.

Apple may rename next smartphone

Another possible rumor for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s next big smartphone may involve a name change: iPhone Air. The company already named its current tablet iPad Air, so this is a real possibility.

One of the biggest highlights at last week’s unveiling of iOS 8 was HealthKit, a system that allows users to monitor their health and fitness stats through third-party applications. There is a strong possibility iPhone 6 will come with more features that work in conjunction with HealthKit. Other purported features for the upcoming smartphone include a 1704 x 960 display and A8 processor.

There have been numerous leaks regarding the upcoming iPhone 6. Furthermore, two of the tech giant’s key executives, Tim Cook and Eddy Cue, paid a visit to Apple’s new Austin campus where they told employees there were some exciting products coming out this year. The iPhone 6 (or iPhone Air) is set to debut in September, according to a number insiders. Given Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s history of launching the iPhone in late summer or early fall, it is safe to say we can expect the next iPhone to arrive well before the holidays.
