Google Glass Update Allows Users To Track World Cup Matches, Scores

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) announced several updates for Google Glass, which will be enjoyed by the owners of the augmented-reality headset following the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Google Now cards

According to the search engine giant, Google Glass explorers will now be able to track the upcoming matches, matches in progress, finished matches, and division standings at the World Cup by setting up notifications on Google Now.

Explorers will only need to add their favorite team or click the YES button when they see the options to receive match updates on Google Now on their phone.

Photo sharing

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) will also release an update that will be enjoyed by shutter bugs. According to the search engine giant, it will take a big step in updating the photo-sharing feature of the Google Glass—MyGlass app for Android.

The latest update allows explorers to instantly see the pictures they captured on their Android phone when they open the MyGlass app. All they need to do is tap the image to open it and export it to any of the photo-sharing app they want to use such as the Instagram owned by Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB).  Explorers do not need a Wi-Fi connection to access MyGlass app.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is also working on an update for MyGlass app for iOS.

Google Glass: Parking location and battery notification

Owners of Google Glass who has a hard time remembering where they parked their cars will now find their parking location easily. The search engine giant updated Glass with a Parking Location Card, which can be found on left side of the Glass home screen. The app provides a map that will lead explorers back to their parking spot.

In addition, explorers will now receive mobile notifications informing them when the battery of the Google Glass is already low. For those who are currently using the latest MyGlass app for Android, they will receive notification when their Glass batter drops below 20%.

Furthermore, owners of the Google Glass will also receive notifications when their packages are already shipped or delivered. All they have to do choose the Yes button to receiving “package updates “package updates based on your gmail” on Google Now mobile app.
