Apple Inc. iWatch Is Coming In October [REPORT]

Updated on

When it comes to rumors related to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), the rumor mill has shifted its focus between the iPhone 6 and the so-called “iWatch,” which is expected to be Apple’s first smart watch. There have been several hints that suggest Apple really does have some plans to introduce the rumored iWatch this year.

Now yet another reliable source, Re/code’s John Paczkowski, has reported on a new “wearable device,” citing people familiar with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s plans. As per their sources, the company will make good use of its new recently unveiled HealthKit, which will come bundled with the iOS 8 operating system.

Re/code didn’t use the word “watch” in this report, but hopefully, that’s what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is holding in the release pipeline in addition to the iPhone 6 and its other iDevices. As per the source, Apple is reportedly thinking about announcing the iWatch during the month of October.

The Nikkei has also reported the same thing but called the device the “iWatch.” As per Nikkei’s sources, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is so confident in the device that it is looking to manufacture 3 million to 5 million units per month, which is surely a huge figure.

If Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) sticks to its schedule, then the company will likely announced its next generation of the iPhone in September, and with it, the company will also release iOS 8 to the public. Apple is expected to then hold a separate event in October to debut its new Macs, iPads and hopefully, the “iWatch.”

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iWatch is said to focus on health and fitness, which means that once it is announced, it will offer competition to the FuelBand, the FitBit, and more. Of course the iWatch will be the biggest competitor to Samsung’s Gear 2, Pebble and other smart watches as well. But how well the iWatch is able to collect and measure data needs to be seen.

Let’s hope that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has really got it right with the iWatch. October is still far away, which means we’ll surely see many more rumors related to Apple’s smart watch until that time. Let’s wait and “watch.”
