3D Systems first showcased iSense Scanner at CES this year

The iSense Scanner, which was first showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show, would give superior attributes to the iPad camera. In an interview with Fox Business, 3D Systems CEO Avi Reichental said that it will transform the users’ iPad into a “mobile physical photography camera.” It will allow them to capture a 3D sculpture of everything around them, from as small as a shoe to as big as a car. Moreover, they can readily 3D print these images.

Users won’t have to put the object in a box to take its 3D image. You can attach the iSense 3D Scanner to your iPad and walk around the object to capture its three-dimensional image. 3D Systems’ highly applauded Sense 3D scanning software allows iSense to scan wirelessly to give users an easy capture experience.

3D Systems allows iPad users to get 3D prints of anything they like

Reichental said that using the iSense 3D Scanner, you can get 3D prints of your wedding cakes, photos, animals, shoes or anything else. And you can print the images out of any material you like. 3D Systems CEO said that you can print a 3D model using the plastic, chocolate, sugar, and even recyclable coke bottles. 3D Systems is aggressively trying to reach out to consumers and make 3D printing a household concept.

In the past few months, 3D Systems has partnered with several companies to expand its operating markets and diversify its offerings. The company has formed strategic alliances with Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS), Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS) and Hershey Co (NYSE:HSY) to introduce 3D printing to various industries.
