Motorola has unveiled the all new Moto E, another Android smartphone that’s priced even cheaper than the already successful Moto G. Since the release of the Moto G, a lot has happened, and the company has been acquired by Lenovo. But still Motorola knows that there’s a lot to offer in the budget Android hardware segment, and considering its price, the Moto E surely looks an interesting smartphone. It’s also good to know that at least some companies don’t mind launching smartphones for the budget (or low-end if you prefer) segment users.
Moto E tech specs and price
The Moto E is equipped with tough Gorilla Glass and interchangeable multicolored rear shells. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, and an Adreno 302 400MHz single-core graphics chip. As expected, the Moto E runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, but that’s not all, as Motorola has also committed to at least one major software update cycle.
On the display front, the Moto E comes with a 4.3-inch display with a qHD (540×960 pixel) resolution, 256 ppi; and the company also claims that it comes with a “water-repellent splash guard for lasting durability.” It has in-built 4GB of storage capacity, with microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB of expandable memory. It also has a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 1,980mAh battery which Motorola says will last up to 24 hours.
Motorola announced Moto E price in India
Motorola has already announced the pricing of this smartphone in India, where it would be available for 6,999 rupees, which equals to approx $129 or £69. In India, the phone would be available exclusively via online retailer Flipkart beginning Wednesday.
So for the price of $129, you’re getting an unlocked smartphone, and a device with some pretty attractive technical specs. Overall the phone looks great on paper, but we’ll need to wait for the detailed review before saying anything definite.
