How To Kill Facebook’s News Feed

Facebook

Back in the old days, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) was cool, something that was exclusive to each college and university. But then Facebook opened to everyone, and people all around the world started to join the social network and also created millions of pages. People “liked” these pages, and News Feeds became more crowded with updates from these pages and also from their friends.

So if you’re someone who wants to make Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) clean by hiding the entire News Feed, then here’s an option that you should definitely take a look at.

How it works

Enter “Quiet Facebook,” a small browser hack created by Max Friedrich, a student from Germany. This hack is available for Firefox, Chrome and Safari users. Once installed, you’ll be able to experience a cleaner Facebook with no News Feed and only the chat sidebar.

If you’re a Safari user, then you can download the CSS from GitHub, open Safari Preferences > Advanced, and select the downloaded file in the style sheet drop-down. If you’re on Chrome or Firefox, then there’s an easier way involved. You can get the style sheet from the Userscripts.org website, but before that, you’ll need to install either the Stylist or Tampermonkey browser extension.
