Did Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) just give a preview of the Galaxy S5 Mini? The purported device’s support page surfaced on Samsung’s Finland website. This particular handset was found with the model number SM-G800F.

Rumored features for this purported device

There is not a whole lot of information about the new handset featured on the page. Rumors claim the device will feature a 4.7 inch display with 720p resolution, 16GB of storage with microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera, 1.5MP front facing camera, quad-core Snapdragon SoC with 1.6GHz and 1.5GB of RAM.

Availability and pricing for the device is not available yet.

Samsung’s next big event

The Galaxy S5 Mini is not the only surprise Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) has planned for the near future. Later this month, the South Korean tech giant is expected to debut something health related during a special event. The company is sending out invites to a press event which is set for May 28th at 10:30 am PST in San Fransisco. There are reports Samsung wants to beat Apple before the purported Healthbook arrives later this summer.

There is no word on whether the device or feature will be. Greenbot elaborated, “It’s unlikely that Samsung will announce a new device as it only recently released the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Gear Fit wristband. Both gadgets come with health-related apps and features. The Gear Fit is an activity tracker that features a heart rate sensor and pedometer—although we thought it was pretty bad at both. The S5 smartphone, meanwhile, comes loaded with Samsung’s S Health app and features a heart rate monitor on the back of the phone.”

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:0059935) could release S Health software development kit to the public. This program has been in beta since early 2014, so there is a strong possibility the kit is ready for release. The S Health application is essentially a personalized health tracker that lets users record workouts, blood pressure levels, weight, blood glucose levels, and more.
