Android 4.4.3 KitKat To Be Released By End Of May?

Updated on

Operating system updates are always anticipated by users. Such updates typically fix several issues and often also include new performance improvements and UI changes. However, sometimes an OS update is mostly focused on providing bug fixes and improvements. Google hasn’t yet announced anything officially about the new Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, but as you might have guessed, rumors have already started to float regarding its release date.

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update will be first received by Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Nexus 5 users. As always, Google’s Nexus smartphones and tablets are the first to receive this update, and then Google Play Edition devices will receive the update. Later, other supported devices will get the new version, provided their manufacturers and carriers send out the OTA update.

Release date of Android 4.4.3 KitKat

The popular HTC leakster LLabTooFeR recently claimed that the update should roll out during the current month, but he didn’t provided any specific date. It might also mean that the update will arrive at the end of the month. The leaker further reveals that the Android 4.4.3 is undergoing final tests and both the HTC One M8 and M7 will get this new update in near future.

The same information is now also backed up by Android Geeks, and according to their sources, Google will roll out the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update starting on May 23 for devices such as the Google Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. All the recent Nexus devices will get this update, and then other Google Play Edition devices will get the update.

Android 4.4.3 should also roll out on all smartphones running Android 4.4.2 KitKat right now and on those that are going to receive that update in the future. Samsung is rumored to skip the 4.4.2 update entirely and update some smartphones directly to 4.4.3.

Google has stayed silent about the Android 4.4.3 update, and this silence has left many users confused as they eagerly await the new update to solve many of the issues that Android 4.4.2 KitKat didn’t fix. Stay tuned, and we’ll give you all the details when the update arrives.
