WhatsApp has become one of the most popular messaging client which is available on multiple platforms. Apart from sending and receiving messages to your contacts, users can also have group conversations; something which WhatsApp excels at. In fact, any of your friend can add you to any group and you would start receiving messages in those groups.
Wouldn’t it be great if you can simply mute those annoying groups forever? With the new update of WhatsApp for Android, you can finally mute groups not just for a year or two, but for an entire century.
So if you don’t want those annoying messages every now and then, and think that this group is making too much noise, here’s how to mute an entire group for a century.
Muting groups for a century
Firstly, make sure that you’re running on the latest version of WhatsApp, which is version 2.11.234. At the time of writing this, the update is not available at the Google Play Store, and hence you’ll need to get the latest version from WhatsApp’s official site.
Once you download and install the new version, head over to the group that you want to mute, and then tap on the icon to the top right.
You’ll now be able to see Mute option. Tap on it and then from the next screen, tap on “1 Century.”
That’s all you need to do. Now you will not be bothered by that group for an entire century. Of course, WhatsApp has a good sense of humor because who knows what will happen after hundred years.
