Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iOS 8, a much awaited software update for iPhone and iPad could come much sooner than expected. A report from Huffington Post expects iOS 8 to be announced on the first day of Apple’s WWDC conference in San Francisco, which is June 2nd, 2014.

Final version may debut with the iPhone 6

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s WWDC is generally known as a platform for launching new software and SDKs to developers, so that the developers could update their existing and new apps in line with the software. The final launch is expected to come in shortly after the release of the beta and other successive versions (if required) throughout July and August.

After a series of changes, the final version is expected for users in September or possibly in October. The iPhone 6 is also speculated to debut around the same time.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) generally does not release some key features in the beta release, so users should be prepared and must not feel disappointed if some expected feature is missing in the beta version.

Expected features of Apple iOS 8

A number of rumors surrounding the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS 8 have been making the rounds on the web ever since the company came out with the previous version.

Officially, there has been no information available on the features of iOS 8, but it is largely believed that health will be the primary focus of the new OS. Apple’s new Healthbook app is expected to monitor everything ranging from steps taken, exercise, heart rate and even blood sugar and blood pressure

Apart from the health apps, other expected features in the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS 8 include a simplified notification center, which would make it easier for Apps to show updates and information. It is expected that Apple would scrap the Game Center altogether in iOS 8, and could add an extra app to control the purported iWatch. The new iOS 8 could come with an additional fifth column of app icons, which makes it ready for Apple’s new ‘phablet.’ Apple Maps app would be updated with public directions.

Recently, a new image found on the Chinese social media site Weibo is claimed to be a screenshot from the future Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) model. The leaked image has a similar layout as that of the iPhone 5, but with five columns and six rows.
