Google Inc Plans To Fit Micro Cameras In Future Contact Lenses

Updated on

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has filed a patent where it describes inventing a new micro camera for smart contact lenses, says a report from Patentbolt. According to the patent, the search engine giant is looking for a way to integrate its tiny cameras into future contact lenses. User wearing these contact lenses will be able to control it with the help of certain systems and unique blinking patterns.

Another “visionary” breakthrough from Google

The patent in question describes the benefits of this new invention and potential power that Google can add to the wearable devices.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), in one of its many patents, states that making future smart contact lenses is linked with the system and /or methods for clicking image data representing a scene to which the viewer is looking through a thin image capture component fitted in the contact lens. These images can be processed and used locally or remotely on one or more devices. The term “image capture component” means a camera, according to Patentbolt.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) could integrate a thin camera component on or in a contact lens keeping in mind the thickness of the contact lens is not increased too much. Also, the camera within the lens will be placed such that it does not restrict the vision of the viewer, and takes the picture smoothly.

Once the user shifts to another object, the camera should automatically adjust, generating image data similar to the image that the user is looking. Users can run these images for detecting light, colors, and pattern of colors, objects, faces, motion or any other information gleaned by processing the image.

Connecting components with wire or wirelessly

Within the patent, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) explained that a control circuit is linked with the camera and sensors through a wire or without one. Also, various aspects of interactions like control circuit, image capture component and sensors can be connected with each other through wires or even wirelessly.

For instance, communication interaction may be linked wirelessly, while power supply interactions may be linked with the help of a wire. Sensors in the camera will capture energy wirelessly or mechanically.
