3D Systems Corporation (DDD) Q1 Earnings Preview

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) will report its first quarter results on Tuesday, April 29 before the bell. Analysts say that the Rock Hill-based company may surprise on the upside, largely due to delayed purchases in the fourth quarter. The delayed purchases in the previous quarter should help boost Q1 revenues. What’s more, 3D Systems is expanding its business in Brazil. Over the past few months, the company has been aggressively expanding its product portfolio, which should help its revenue growth momentum.

3D Systems’ revenues to go up, but earnings likely to sink

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) recently said it will start shipping 3D-printed building blocks for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Ara smartphones by next year. Project Ara is a customizable smartphone. Earlier this month, the company partnered with Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPLS) to offer 3D printing services at the retailer’s New York and Los Angeles stores. This pilot project would help 3D Systems understand customers’ needs.

Notably, Wall Street consensus for Q1 earnings has fallen from $0.26 to $0.15 over the past 90 days. However, its Q1 revenues are expected to jump 42.50% YoY to $145.5 million. 3D Systems’ aggressive acquisitions, new partnerships, and strong product introductions should reflect in the earnings report next week.
