iPhone 6 Latest Concept Features Glass Back

Updated on

The iPhone 6 continues to be a topic of interest in the technology industry. Artist Margin Hajack recently created a pair of new concepts for the handset, with the newest one being commissioned by the French website Nowhereelse (and picked up by 9to5Mac).

iPhone 6 concept looks ultra-thin

This new concept features an extremely thin design. In fact, it’s so thin that it probably isn’t realistic. Nonetheless, it’s certainly pretty, and we would expect nothing less from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Of course Apple will probably make the handset a little thinner than the previous version.

The design features the return of the glass backing, which Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) dumped in the design of the iPhone 5. The artist may have been thinking about the Sapphire glass rumors we’ve been hearing so much about. It also features a return to the rocker-style volume button, matte metal edges and a display which nearly runs edge to edge. The iPhone 6 concept sort of looks like a hybrid of the iPhone 4S and the iPad Mini with Retina display.

The artist has even provided an idea for the gold version of the iPhone 6. He has given it a gold edge and a white casing.

What to expect with the iPhone 6

Of course these new concepts are nothing but an artist’s ideas of what the iPhone 6 might look like. We have heard a plethora of rumors though. We’ve heard that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is planning to launch two different sizes—both of which are larger than the iPhone 5S. We’ve also heard murmurings about how much sapphire glass the iPhone 6 may feature. Some expect the entire handset to be made from it, while others think it could still be relegated to the camera and the Touch ID sensor.

We’ve also seen a nearly endless stream of allegedly leaked photos of the iPhone 6. Unfortunately we’ll have to put up with all of these rumors and sometimes nonsensical concepts about what the handset might or might not look like.
