Verizon Wireless, a subsidiary of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), which operates the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, published a press release today announcing the company is hiring to fill more than 300 positions in several cities in Florida. The jobs include positions in sales, network, customer service, operations and other technology-related departments.
The release also mentioned that Verizon Wireless already employs more than 2,000 people in the state of Florida. The company has also been the recipient of numerous “best place to work” awards from a variety of organizations including Working Mother Magazine.

Mariano Legaz, Verizon Wireless Florida region president, elaborated on the company’s plans for expansion in the Sunshine State. “Verizon Wireless continues to grow in Florida and we are staffing to continue to enhance all aspects of the customer experience.”
Details on the positions
According to the press release, most of the new positions are anticipated to be sales and service professionals at Verizon’s 80 retail locations throughout Florida. Other new positions include several dozen network engineers and technicians, business sales and solutions experts, customer service representatives and a variety of administrative and other positions.
In addition, all new hires will receive competitive salaries and access to a broad range of employee benefits. Verizon Wireless offers employees health care coverage that begins on the first day of employment, participation in the company’s 401(K) program, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, transition programs for military veterans and a variety of additional benefits. Verizon Wireless has been noted for its efforts to actively recruits veterans.
Back in January of this year, Verizon Wireless finalized its buyback of Vodafone Group plc (NASDAQ:VOD) (LON:VOD)’s stake in the company for around $130 billion in caah and stock.
