Eagle Capital Buys Anadarko Petroleum; Sells Teva Pharma

Eagle Capital Management LLC revealed in its recent 13F filing that it added 5 new stocks to its portfolio, bought more shares of 25 stocks, exited 3 stocks and reduced holdings in 12 stocks. The top ten holdings of Eagle Capital represent 50.42% of its portfolio. Eagle Capital has total assets of $23.38 billion declared in the filing.

Eagle Capital’s major new positions

Independent exploration and production company Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:APC) was the biggest new addition to Eagle Capital’s portfolio during the last quarter. It purchased 2,795,016 shares of the company for $221.70 million. Anadarko now represents 0.95% of Eagle Capital’s portfolio.

Another big new addition was the social media giant Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), of which Eagle Capital purchased 499,800 shares for $31.81 million, representing 0.14% of its total portfolio.

Eagle Capital also purchased 10,400 shares of iShares Russell 1000 Value Index (ETF) (NYSEARCA:IWD) for $0.97 million. Eagle Capital also acquired 2,800 shares of SPDR S&P 500 for $0.51 million.

The premier global provider of satellite operations and digital TV solutions, Echostar Corporation (NASDAQ:SATS) was the fifth new addition to Eagle Capital’s portfolio. It purchased 4,100 shares for EchoStar Corp for $0.20 million.

Top positions

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) is the biggest holding of Eagle Capital as of December 31. It owns 44,127,531 shares of Oracle currently valued at $1.68 billion representing 7.22% of its overall portfolio. The second largest holding was Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) of which Eagle Capital owns 12,625,886 shares currently valued at $1.49 billion, representing 6.40% of its total portfolio. Eagle Capital purchased 607,471 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Inc during the quarter.

Aon Corporation was the third largest holding of Eagle Capital. It owns 16,004,271 shares of Aon Corporation, representing 5.74% of its overall portfolio.

Sold out positions

Eagle Capital sold out its entire stake in Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:TEVA) (TLV:TEVA). It owned 22,400 shares of the pharmaceuticals company at the beginning of the December quarter. Eagle Capital also closed its position in National Instruments Corporation by selling all the 21,525 shares of the tools major it owned.

Another major position closed by Eagle Capital during the quarter was Kraft Foods Group Inc (NASDAQ:KRFT), Inc by selling 6,500 shares of the food and beverage major.
