Apple iWatch Concept “iMe” Featuers A Curved Display

Updated on

The market for smartwatches is slowly expanding, and while Pebble was the first successful smartwatch, we’ve slowly seen companies like Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) (TYO:6758) and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) jump on to the bandwagon. In fact, Samsung has recently launched the second generation of its smartwatch – Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo with Tizen operating system.

If there’s so much happening in this smartwatch space, then why would Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) sit on the sidelines? We’ve been hearing rumors that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) too is in the process of making the company’s own smartwatch, unofficially dubbed the iWatch. Until now we’ve seen several iWatch concepts, but the new concept of Antonio De Rosa of ADR studios really stands out, and indeed looks beautiful.

This smartwatch concept is called “iMe”, and it features a Galaxy Fit-like curved display, and strap is similar to that of the Nike+ FuelBand. For sure, this is one of the best iWatch concepts we’ve seen so far.

Tim Cook has already hinted that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has some exciting products to display in the “new products” category this year. While this does not mean that this will be the Apple iWatch, but the company has reportedly set aside a team of over hundred developers who are working on this new wearable gadget.

This iMe concept is unlike other smartwatches, as it features a curved display, with a camera and a small home button. On the sides, you can find physical buttons for volume and hold toggle.

There’s also a heartbeat monitor, motion sensor and a dedicated health app. Just like Gear Fit, this smartwatch too focuses on health related features.

So what do you think about this iMe smartwatch concept? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
