Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, a popular celebration of love and relationships loosely based on an apocryphal story about St. Valentine of Rome. Despite most people knowing that it exists, opinions are widely divided on what Valentine’s Day actually celebrates. For roughly 1,000 years after the death of St. Valentine, the day was a holy day of reflection. The “love and chocolates” angle is fairly new, relatively speaking.
