Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit Could Debut With Galaxy S5, Gear 2

Updated on

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and Gear 2 will likely debut sometime soon. It’s also reported the South Korean tech giant will debut their Galaxy Gear Fit around the same time.

Samsung to introduce wearable fitness device

Galaxy Gear Fit uses a sensor instead of a camera. It’s rumored to monitor sleep habits and steps. Users will be able to share their fitness progress on social media websites.

MK Business News (South Korean news website) offered more details on the gadget, “The new health checkup device will be presented together with the premium smartphone “Galaxy S5,” the world’s top smartphone maker’s flagship product for this year, and the “Galaxy Gear 2,” the successor to the “Galaxy Gear,” said sources in the electronics sector Friday. The Galaxy Gear Fit replaced a camera with a sensor, embedding functions of pedometer and monitoring users’ sleeping. The Galaxy Gear Fit also allows users to share on the social network how much they exercised and compete with others to make the experience more fun. ”

The price for this device has yet to be determined but it’s expected to launch along with the Galaxy S5 in April.

More anticipation for the Galaxy S5

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is predicted to make debut at Samsung’s Unpacked 2014 Episode 1 on Monday during Mobile World Congress. There is a lot riding on Samsung as expectations are high. The Galaxy S4 failed to meet expectations, which means the Galaxy S5 must exceed expectations if they want to stay in the game. Although, Samsung’s biggest competitor Apple is on the same boat, the company still needs to show why it’s ahead of the game. Innovation is key, it’s the innovation that keeps the tech giant successful. People want more than just an upgrade, otherwise they would just keep their old phone.

Samsung fans have a lot to look forward if and when the Galaxy S5 is released.
