Angela Ahrendts has a lot to look forward to this year. First, she will be leaving her current position at Burberry for a new executive position at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). She’s also preparing for the honor of becoming a Dame of the British Empire along with Melinda Gates (philanthropist and wife of Bill Gates).
Ahrendts to receive special award
Her award was announced last October. Vogue’s United Kingdom edition elaborated, “Awards from the Queen for British nationals are announced twice a year – with some considerable fanfare – as the Queen’s Birthday and New Year’s Honours Lists, in June and January respectively. Non-British nationals, however, receive their awards at various times throughout the year and, although they are approved by the Queen, they are not awarded by a member of the royal family.”
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) also hired Ahrendts late last year as Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores. She won’t start the job until the spring. Her professional history was mainly in the fashion industry. She joined luxury British fashion brand Burberry back in 2006.
Apple TV may receive update
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may soon release another Apple TV in the near future. The official online store recently unveiled a new section for Apple TV. It has its own section right alongside the iPhone, iPad, and iPod.
Mark Gurman recently shared a more elaborate blog post regarding the matter on 9-to-5 Mac. He suggested, “Since our previous report, we’ve learned a few additional details about new versions of the Apple TV in development. It is currently not clear or confirmed if the following specifications will be placed in the shipping product, but we understand from solid sources that they have been considered and/or tested in prototype versions of the device.”
It’s reported Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will combine their TV box with AirPort Express. Versions of the new Apple TV are also predicted to integrate wireless router 802.11ac.
