Candy Crush Saga, not shockingly, is the top free downloaded app on both iPhone and iPad this year. This app is also a top grossing app for 2013 on iPhone and iPad, as it’s free and relies on in-app purchases for revenue. This addictive game is surely sending big bucks to its developer – King, all thanks to its in-app purchases.
Minecraft – Pocket Edition took the top spot on both iPhone and iPad in the paid app category, although it didn’t made it in the list of top 15 grossing apps. Social media apps have always remained the top most downloaded apps, but not this time. This time we’ve got to see only Facebook in the top 10 free apps. Surprisingly, Twitter is not in the list and it didn’t appeared in any of the top 10 list. Vine, the video sharing app by Twitter stands 4th in the top free apps on iPhone.

The three games that made it to the top free iPad apps list are: Candy Crush Saga, Temple Run 2, and Despicable Me: Minion Rush. The top paid iPad app lists include a total of seven apps.
