Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) Expands In Canada: Opening Store In Toronto

Updated on

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) continues its international expansion drive by opening another store and service center in suburban Toronto on Friday. Unlike most major automakers, Tesla typically avoids local franchises and dealers and sells to customers factory direct.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), has worked very hard to separate Tesla from other automakers, and this cachet has created demand for the stylish all-electric vehicle and the stock. By the same token, the company’s exclusive marketing and selling arrangements are certainly part of what attracts the growing horde of “Teslovers”.

Tesla Motors in Canada

This new store will be Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s second store in Toronto, but the only location that offers a cutting-edge service center. Tesla’s other store in Toronto is located in a mall in Yorkdale. The other two Canadian Tesla stores are located in Montreal and Vancouver.

Unlike in many locations in the U.S., there has been no public or governmental opposition to the opening of the Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) store in Toronto. The company is holding a grand opening of the new Toronto store and service center on Friday evening.

Marketing Tesla-style

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has become well-known for its glitzy, high-tech marketing methods, and the company has no plans on changing that in its newest location in Canada. The new Toronto store will have both built cars and a stripped-down skateboard chassis on display for customers to examine. The store will also feature a huge interactive info screen, and friendly, non-commission associates are always available to answer questions.
