Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5S now ships within twenty-four hours of ordering. This includes all phone models in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB versions in all three colors. This also includes all three major carriers AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. For those who want to purchase the new phone contract-free with a SIM-card from T-Mobile will have to wait one to three business days.
Apple iPhone 5S supply catching up with demand
This report doesn’t come as a surprise considering the iPhone 5S is now available in full at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) retail locations nationwide. A Piper Jaffray analyst summed up how far Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has come: “We believe Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has caught up to demand, which we had expected ahead of the core holiday period. In reflecting on the supply for the 5S product launch overall, we believe that net-net Apple has done a better job in supplying stores with phones proportional to demand.”
Shipping times a big improvement
The new shipping times are a major improvement from the one to three day time frame. Apple’s low supply of iPhones can be attributed to low yields of the Touch ID sensor. There were numerous reports that the tech giant had problems keeping up with the supply. This, of course, is great news for both Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and their customers as tech shoppers should have no problem getting their hands on the must-have smartphone.
In other Apple-related news, the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will soon be available through Straight Talk and Net10 Wireless. The phones will be available at Walmart on December 13. F.J. Pollak (chief executive officer for TracPhone, the company behind Straight Talk and Net10) proclaimed, “Our growing lineup of premium smartphones with the addition of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c reflects our dedication to providing consumers with affordable plans on the top phones on the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE networks.”
The iPhone is also available without a contract through Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, and Cricket Wireless.
