Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumored Release Date, Specs

Updated on

Samsung isn’t expected to launch their highly anticipated Galaxy S5 smartphone until next year, but rumors regarding purported specs are just warming up.

Predictions for Samsung Galaxy S5

There is a lot of speculation that Samsung will enhance their next smartphone, but right now everything is just a rumor. A recent report from infamous website Naver predicts the new Samsung device could be introduced in January and launched in February. This would be earlier than initially expected as Samsung generally debuts their Galaxy S phones during early spring.

Naver also reports the Galaxy S5 could feature a metal exterior and a 64-bit Exynos 5430 “true eight-core processor”. The phone could feature a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and fingerprint scanner.

Galaxy S5 features and specifications

After the South Korean tech giant learned the Exynos 5410 chipset used just four of the eight cores, the company then designed the Exynos 5420, a new processor that would use all eight cores at the same time. However, certain functions can use four of eight cores at the same time. It’s likely the Exynos 5430 will take the same route as its predecessor.

iOS Doc added, “But one thing is for sure, we can definitely count on rumors will propose a Qualcomm LTE equivalent for the Galaxy S5 eventually even more so when Qualcomm recently made a statement saying that the 64-bit processors may very well be launching sometime soon.”

The rumors don’t stop there. There are more speculations that the Galaxy S5 could feature an Ultra High-Definition Display with 4K resolution, custom ARM CPU, and flexible display. There is little doubt that Samsung has a lot in store for fans but what it is remains to be seen. In the meantime, it’s fun to speculate and try to guess what Samsung will come up with next. Brighter days could be ahead for the tech giant.
