Play Newsstand App Gives You Huge Discounts On Magazines

Updated on

How about reading a magazine on your Android smartphone and tablet? If you’ve already used the Play Books app then you know that your Android device is capable of much more than just running apps and games. You can read entire books with the Play Books app, and now with the new Play Newsstand app, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) wants us to read magazines as well.

With the launch of Newsstand, Google is offering several magazines for free or at a discounted rate so that you can get your hands on magazines on a trial basis. For those who don’t know, Play Newsstand combines Google Currents and Play Magazines. Having two separate apps didn’t make much sense and that’s why Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) combined them into one. Well, that’s a good job, Google.

Here’s an incomplete list of free and discounted magazines:

Free magazines:

  • Maximum PC
  • Men’s Health
  • PC Gamer (US edition)
  • Maxim
  • Official Xbox Magazine
  • Women’s Health
  • Runner’s World
  • T3

  • Cosmopolitan Magazine
  • People
  • The New Yorker
  • Wired
  • Essence
  • Real Simple
  • Entertainment Weekly
