Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NOK) Unveils Personalized MixRadio Service

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) rolled out a free music streaming service MixRadio app with Play Me in 31 countries, according to a report from the The Wall Street Journal. The listener gets a personalized radio station after his or her listening habits are tracked by the free music streaming service.

The Finnish firm has taken care to offer personalized services to listeners with simple ‘thumbs up’, ‘thumbs down’ and artist ‘favorite’ features, which enhance music selections. Apart from the songs, the service also makes available a variety of expert and celebrity curated mixes, which are advertisement free and subscription free. Users can save these mixes to listen to while being offline. This feature will also save on cost and data usage.

Hot launch with Nile Rodgers of Chic

The Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s Mix Radio launch was accompanied by the presence of music legend and producer behind Chic and Daft Punk’s global hit Get Lucky, Nile Rodgers. At the event, Rodgers played various mixes exclusively composed for the new MixSharing feature.

The service can be accessed through Nokia Lumia in 31 countries, which makes it the most global personalized streaming service in the world. The service can be downloaded from Windows Phone Store.
