The iPhone 6 won’t make it’s debut for at least a year from now, but that doesn’t stop Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans and experts from making interesting predictions. It’s rumored that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is working with LG Electronics Inc. (KRX:066570) (KRX:066575) to create their first phablet phone. The reports speculate a collaboration project between both tech companies to give the iPhone 6 a radical new makeover.

Apple’s insights on LG’s technology

Patently Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) offered some insight on LG Electronics Inc. (KRX:066570) (KRX:066575)’s technology. “As curved batteries are totally new but strongly required for the lucrative flexible smartphones, we will have a lot of business opportunities.”

iPhone 6 curved battery patent

In early 2013, there was a published Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) patent which mentions curved batteries. It could be just the thing to make an iPhone that’s truly unique. The iPhone 6 could feature a thin cylinder back with a massive sized screen wrapping around the front/back of the phone. A bigger screen could also be a real possibility. Peter Misek (analyst for Jefferies) sent a research note to investors claiming the next iPhone would feature 4.8 inch Retina+ IGZO display. His estimations matched preditions from Ming-chi Kuo (KGI Securities Analyst).

Pocket-Lint explained, “It’s anybody’s best guess as to whether Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will follow Android manufacturers’ example and release an iPhone with a larger display, but Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) executives, including Steve Jobs and Tim Cook, have long mocked phablets and their seemingly oversized screens. So it might seem highly unlikely that the company would go up to 5 inches with its next-generation iPhone. However, it also said that a 7-inch tablet was a rubbish idea and then promptly launched the 7.9-inch touting iPad mini. Let’s also not forget that the iPhone 5 screen size increased from 3.5 in the 4S to 4-inches. The point: anything’s possible.”

There are so many possibilities for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to take when it comes to the iPhone, and if rumors are correct, there may be something exciting in the near future.
