Samsung Galaxy F Could Feature Metal Body [REPORT]

There is little to no denying the fact that Android has not only caught up to iOS but has surpassed it on many levels. I’ve not read, nor heard of many stories of iPhone users switching to Android and then back again. Rather, I’ve heard of a number of former iPhone users taking to blogs, review sites, and anywhere they have a voice to question why they waited so long.

With Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930), HTC Corp (TPE:2498), LG Electronics Inc. (KRX:066570) (KRX:066575) and numerous other companies embracing the Android OS, there has been one thing that each have failed to embrace, something that for many is a deal breaker…a metal casing.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) phones aren’t cheap. The Galaxy S4 fetches up to $600, The Galaxy Note 3 will come in around $700. The thing is, they are encased in plastic and each looks rather cheap. One would suspect that if Samsung were to release the Galaxy F (with metal case) an $800 price tag would be the minimum price the Korean manufacturer could endure.

In addition to the metal case, it’s rumored that the Galaxy F will include an octa-core processor, a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, and could also see Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) pushing further into the curved display technology that it has been developing.

For quite some time, Samsung has been teasing that it would be releasing something that featured a curved display. Many thought that the Samsung Gear watch would be the first to use a curved display but that rumor failed to work its way into the real world. Now, Samsung’s DJ Lee is saying that Samsung will release its first phone featuring a curved display in October for the Korean market.

The metal Galaxy F is rumored to run Android 4.2 “Jelly Bean” but one would expect it to at least run Android 4.3. However, if the Galaxy F is ever made, most potential customers would certainly rather see it run Android 4.4, called “KitKat.”
