How to Create A Shared Photo Album On Facebook

Updated on

Just when we thought that Facebook has done everything to make us addicted, the social network has come out with a new idea. This time, Facebook has introduced the feature of shared photo albums. They’re very easy to set up and use, and best of all, you can add contributors to it so that even your friends will be able to add photos to your albums on Facebook. Sounds good, right? Let’s learn how to create a shared photo album on Facebook.

The new shared albums have three different privacy settings: public, friends of contributors and contributors only. This gives the album creator control over who has access to the images. As a creator, you always remain the owner of the album and have the ability to add and delete contributors. You can also change the privacy settings at any time.

As for the album contributors, they have control over only the photos that are uploaded by themselves. They can upload photos from the web or through the Facebook app.

Creating Shared Photo Album on Facebook

To make a shared photo album, head over to the Photos page and click on “Create Album” button. Next, you’ll be able to add photos for your new album.

Now you’ll be able to add contributors to your album. These contributors can add photos to your album and the same album will also appear on their timelines.

You can also checkmark the box so that contributors can add their friends as contributors. The privacy setting will define who’ll be able to see your new album – Public, Friends of Contributors or Contributors only.

That’s it. Go ahead and create your very own photo albums that can be shared with others. But here’s a piece of warning – you should add contributor wisely and only if you trust that person. Else that person will be able to add anything to your album. If you decide to remove contributors, then edit the album and click on the cross next to the contributors name.
