Apple Inc. (AAPL) Store Goes Down Before iPhone 5S Event

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s online store has shut down for a little while. The tech company posted a message on the website explaining plans to update the Apple store and will be back up soon. It’s interesting that their store is shut down just hours before the big iPhone event. Perhaps it means that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is stocking their website with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C models ahead of time.

The big event will start at 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time.

CNET’s Don Reisigner explained, “Rumors have been swirling for months over what Apple might and might not unveil at today’s event, but so far, the company has remained tight-lipped on its plans. That the Apple Store has gone down is a sure sign that something is coming today, but as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has previously done with other major events, its store takedown is by no means an indication of what it has planned.”

There is much anticipation for both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, even though the former isn’t expected to be much of an upgrade. The iPhone 5S is predicted to feature a finger-print sensor for more security and dual-LED flash on the back of the phone. The iPhone 5C is expected to feature a plastic back and could come in a variety of fun colors. Both models will come with  iOS 7 which features Control Center for convenient access to some of the phone’s features, Notification Center that allows users to access missed calls and missed messages in one central location, multitasking features, a better camera with Instagram-like features, improved Safari web browser, iTunes Radio and AirDrop. iOS 7’s new features should entice Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) users who have been thinking about upgrading their iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 but were uncertain.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will officially unveil their next generation of smartphones within hours.
