We already know that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) plans on holding their big iPhone event on September 10th where they will officially unveil the iPhone 5S. We just found out that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will hold a separate event for China on September 11th.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) To Hold Separate iPhone 5S, 5C Event For China

Apple iPhone event in China

The notices for the event were sent out on Wednesday morning. The actual China press event will take place at 10:00 am local time. Yesterday, the invitations for the U.S. event were sent out, announcing the big event on September 10th where they would unveil both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. If it’s true that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) holds a separate event for the iPhone in China, it means that the Cupertino-based tech giant is serious about winning China’s consumer base. Even more importantly, the iPhone 5C could prove to be a major product for the world’s most significant market.

It’s no secret that cheaper smartphones have been selling like hotcakes. A budget-friendly iPhone for China could be just the golden ticket to helping the company garner more sales. According to Apple Insider, “Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has lost some ground recently to more affordable handsets made by local companies like Xiaomi, though the iPhone is not yet offered by China Mobile Ltd. (ADR) (NYSE:CHL) (HKG:0941), the world’s largest cellular carrier. Currently, only two operators carry the iPhone, previous exclusive partner China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited (ADR) (NYSE:CHU) (HKG:0762) and, since 2012, China Telecom Corporation Limited (ADR) (NYSE:CHA) (HKG:0728).”

Rumors for iPhone 5C

There aren’t a whole lot of rumors regarding the design or specifications for the next iPhone except for the report it will be made from plastic and come in a variety of bright hues much like the current iPod Touch.

The iPhone 5S will likely have as much fanfare as previous generations, however there will still be plenty of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans who skip this upcoming generation with the hopes that next year’s iPhone 6 will be more exciting.
