NTELOS offering iPhone 5S

There are other carriers in the United States and Canada that weren’t listed. Interestingly enough, some of the smaller carriers will sell these new smartphones at a discount. For instance, NTELOS will offer the iPhone 5S for just $149.99, a savings of $50 off the suggested retail price. The iPhone is a lucrative device, which is why many carriers (both large and small) offer the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) gadget. It’s in demand and everyone wants it. For carriers to stay relevant in the current market, it’s necessary to offer the iPhone.

Apple’s iPhone sales

This past weekend was a big one for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the company sold over 9 million handsets over the weekend. Their official press release explained, “Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced it has sold a record-breaking nine million new iPhone® 5s and iPhone 5c models, just three days after the launch of the new iPhones on September 20. In addition, more than 200 million iOS devices are now running the completely redesigned iOS 7, making it the fastest software upgrade in history. Both iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are available in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK. Demand for the iPhone 5s has exceeded the initial supply, and many online orders are scheduled to be shipped in the coming weeks.”

Interestingly enough, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has sold more iPhone 5S devices than they did iPhone 5C, the “budget” version of the iPhone. Most Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) fans are willing to spend more money for the full iPhone experience. It’s too early to tell how the iPhone 5C will perform in markets, but there’s a good possibility that it could be a huge hit.
