Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS 7 is making people physically sick indicate strings of complaints on Apple forums. Number of users posted complaints on Apple forums that Zoom and motion effect in the latest iOS 7 is causing nausea, headaches, hurting eyes, dizziness and motion sickness. Navigation animation is expected to be the main reason behind the sickness.
Zoom feature not satisfying
One of the complaints compared animations with car sickness due to iOS 7, while others said that they are feeling sick after few minutes’ use of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) mobile device. Some users even went on to downgrade their devices to iOS 6 (which is not possible now).
A user said that he was going crazy after upgrading his iOS. He felt very restless every time after using the phone. He said that he used his phone for just 20 minutes, and now “now I feel like I’m going to vomit,” and there should be a way to “turn this off!”
Another user claimed that the Zoom feature of the phone is not satisfying. It is way too bright and hard on eyes. The user said that functionality is good, but the display is shaking.
Apple iOS 7 causing nausea and dizziness
“I think another reason that it is making me uncomfortable is because there is so much white space on some built in apps like safari, calendar, mail,” said one of the users. Further, he said that lack of consistency between the brightness of apps is another reason for feeling uncomfortable. Overall visual experience, according to the user, is not a good one.
Another post that appeared on the forum complained of dizziness due to animations and the user downgraded to iOS 6.1.4 on his iPhone 5. The user said that iOS 7 is a good OS, but the nausea it causes spoils its credibility.
One of the users tried to find a way out of it and contacted support at Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), but he was told that it could not be turned off.
Effect can be slowed but, downgrading only option
Users are expecting that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will come up with an option to disable motion and Zoom effects in the next iOS version. Apple has advised users to email the developers asking for an option or alternative zoom in the near future.
Although motion cannot be switched off, it can definitely be slowed down by visiting Settings> General> Accessibility> and pick the “Reduce motion” option, which may reduce the motion in some iPhones, says a report from ZDNet. However, iOS 7 cannot be fully freed of motion and Zoom effects, and the only way to get rid of them is to downgrade to iOS 6.
