Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) re-opened its in-store pickup service for customers who want to purchase the iPhone 5s. Depending on the size, color, or carrier, this iphone is available for pickup at stores including the New York Grand Central, SoHo, and Fifth Avenue locations.
Apple’s In-Store Pick-up Service
Personal Pickup service works by allowing customers to make the purchase online, then selecting the store to pick-up the device. Unfortunately, as PCMag.com explained, “Options are limited. A silver 64GB iPhone 5s from Verizon, for example, is available today from the SoHo, 14th Street, and Grand Central Apple Stores. But the same device for AT&T is listed as “unavailable for pickup.” A 32GB space gray iPhone 5s from Sprint was also available from most stores in Manhattan, but the same smartphone from Verizon was nowhere to be found. Apple’s Gold iPhone 5S
Unfortunately, those who want Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s gold iPhone 5S may have to wait or look elsewhere. There is still a long line of customers waiting for the gold version. Those who don’t mind spending a lot of money just to get their hands on the gold version can pay up a huge sum on eBay.
The weekend prior to this past weekend was a big one for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as it was the official launch weekend of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The Cupertino-tech giant sold a total of 9 million new smartphones within the first three days. That forced Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to close its in-store pickup services thanks to dwindling supplies.
For those who are still waiting for the new model to go prepaid, Virgin Mobile will launch these phones in-store sans contract. Price plans for the phone have yet to be announced, however, we can expect the phones to cost a lot since there are no subsidies.
