Earnings Preview: Schlumberger, SunTrust Banks, State Street, VF Corp

Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:SLB), SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE:STI), State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT), VF Corp (NYSE:VFC), and Rockwell Collins, Inc. (NYSE:COL) are scheduled to post its quarterly financial earnings results on Friday, July 19.

Schlumberger Limited (SLB) earnings estimates

Wall Street analysts expect Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:SLB) to report strong financial results for the second quarter of 2013. The company provides information technology and project management solutions to the oil and gas industry worldwide. During the first quarter, the company posted $10.67 billion revenue and $1.35 billion income from continuing operations or $1.01 diluted earnings per share.

For the second quarter, analysts projected that Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:SLB) will post $1.11 earnings per share (EPS) on $11 billion revenue. Its estimated EPS is higher than its $1.05 EPS and its estimated revenue is 6 percent higher than its $10 billion revenue in the same period in 2012.

For the full fiscal 2013, analysts expect the company to achieve $4.67 EPS on $45 billion revenue. Majority of analyst covering the shares of Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:SLB) recommended a buy rating.

SunTrust Banks, Inc. (STI)

SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE:STI) is expected by analysts to post higher earnings results for the second quarter. During the previous quarter, the bank reported outstanding financial performance with $340 million net income or $0.63 earnings per share. Its revenue was $2.11 billion.

Analysts projected that SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE:STI) will achieve $0.67 EPS on $2.16 billion revenue compared with its $0.50 EPS on $2.43 billion revenue in the second quarter in 2012. For the full fiscal 2013, the bank is expected to generate $2.71 EPS and $8.60 billion revenue.

State Street Corporation (STT)

The expectations of Wall Street analysts for the financial performance of State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) is positive for the current quarter. Analysts anticipated that the bank will deliver $1.19 earnings per share, higher than its profit of $1.01 in the same period last year. In terms of revenue, the bank is expected to achieve $2.54 billion revenue, a bit higher than its $2.53 billion revenue in 2012.

For entire fiscal 2013, State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) is expected to generate $4.56 EPS on $10.08 billion revenue. Majority of analysts recommended a buy rating for the shares of the company.

VF Corp (VFC)

VF Corp (NYSE:VFC) is a designer and manufacturer of different types of accessories, apparel and footwear. Wall Street analysts believe the company will report solid earnings results for the second quarter.

Based on the consensus estimate, VF Corp (NYSE:VFC) will post $1.16 earnings per share, an increase of 5 percent from its $1.11 earnings per share in the same quarter a year ago. Its revenue is projected to be around $2.26 billion, 6 percent higher than its $2.14 billion revenue in 2012.

For the full year 2013, the company is expected to achieve an EPS of $10.87 on $11.53 billion revenue. Majority of analysts recommended a buy rating for the stock of VF Corp (NYSE:VFC).

Rockwell Collins, Inc. (COL)

Meanwhile, the financial performance of Rockwell Collins, Inc. (NYSE:COL) is expected to be slightly higher this quarter. Analysts projected that its second earnings per share will be $1.15, up by a penny from its $1.14 EPS in the same quarter in the previous year.  Its revenue is expected to decline by 3 percent from $1.21 billion to $1.17 billion.

For the fiscal 2013, Rockwell Collins, Inc. (NYSE:COL) is projected to achieve $4.57 earnings per share on $4.62 billion revenue.
