Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is now offering developers early access to Kinect for Windows for just $399. This allows developers to access the tools and the pre-release sensor. This program will start at the end of fall to give them enough time before the new applications for Kinect with Windows are shipped next year. This report was announced during Microsoft’s 2013 Build Keynote. As Daniel Terdiman explained, “Those taking part in the program will get direct access to the Kinect for Windows engineering team, early access to ongoing builds of the software development kit, private access to all API and sample documentation, the pre-release sensor, and a production sensor at launch.”

Registration for the kit will end on July 31 and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will only choose the most successful developers to receive the kit.
