How To Disable Ad Tracking In iPhone Running On iOS 7

Updated on

Apple has finally revamped its iOS with the company’s next version of mobile operating system – iOS 7. The new OS comes with new app icons, design changes and some new features like quick settings, new lock screen, improved multi-tasking and more.

Among its changes, Apple has also introduced a new setting that you as an end user can perform to disable ad tracking in iPhone running on iOS 7.

The good part is that this tracking can be easily switched off from the Settings app. If you’re really concerned about your privacy, then you should definitely check it out as you won’t want to give your personal information to advertisers. And yes, by default, this setting is turned on. Well, good work on Apple’s part but since you’re smart and reading this, let’s turn off this setting.

Go to the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on Privacy. Next, tap on the section labeled as Advertising.

This will open the Limit Ad Tracking option. All you need to do is to simply toggle this option to ON. It might look confusing at first, but yes, you need to toggle it to On. Perhaps Apple has made this setting complicated only to confuse its user so that they won’t touch this setting.

If you don’t touch this setting, then ad tracking will be left on by default, and that’s exactly what advertisers would want. That’s why, go ahead and switch off this setting right now.
