Dolphin For Android: Switch To Desktop Or Mobile Version Of Any Site

Updated on

Dolphin is one of the most featured browsers on Android. If you’re still stuck with an older Android version (like Gingerbread) and its default browser, then you should really check out the Dolphin browser. If you’re on Android 4.0 and above, then Chrome comes as the default browser but still with so many features in Dolphin like gestures, sonar, sharing and most notably – addons – it surely deserves a try.

Switching to the Desktop version of any website in Chrome is a piece of cake. You just need to tap on “Request desktop site” button from Options. But what if you’re on Dolphin browser for Android and want to switch between desktop and mobile version of any site?

Well, there are two ways of doing this. Let’s take a look at both methods.

Method 1: Launch the Dolphin browser, go to Menu > More > Settings > User Agent and then select the user agent of your choice. If you want to switch to the desktop version of any site, then select “Desktop.” You can also select between iPhone, iPad, or custom.

However, note that these settings will apply to all the sites, and that’s why you’ll need to switch to Android (default) view for mobile version.

Method 2: As discussed previously, Dolphin also supports addons. Install the Dolphin Desktop Toggle from Play Store.

Once installed, swipe left to open addons menu. From there, tap on Desktop Toggles. This will instantly switch your website to display the desktop version. Once you’re done, tap again to switch to the mobile version.

So go ahead and switch to the desktop or mobile version of any website using any of these methods.
