Apple Inc. (AAPL) Testing LinkedIn Integration For iOS 7

Updated on

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in a quest to increase the third party social networks on iOS, is examining deep LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) integration for the iOS 7, which would be the latest to be launched as per the code-based references that are inside of the first beta of iOS7. One of the functions of the references is to show that users can post content like web links to LinkedIn through a share sheet or iOS application very easily.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) Testing LinkedIn Integration For iOS 7

The integration of iOS 7 with LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) did not come as a surprise as in WWDC 2013, both the companies announced to bind with each other for the release of OS X Mavericks.

Hamza Sood is the person who found out and sent the LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) code and text strings to 9to5mac.com, in which there are various pieces of code, not available which prevents the LinkedIn from becoming active on iOS. This might probably be the reason for the absence of LinkedIn integration in the user facing version of the first iOS 7 beta.

Integration, Not Sure

There is no surety if Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is testing LinkedIn integration in iOS 7 or will it simply drop the idea after internal testing. Over the past years, Apple has removed social network from iOS. In 2010, for instance the phone maker tested iOS 4 versions, which included Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) integration but the two companies, could not reach on any definite agreement till 2012 with iOS 6.

Twitter In iOS

Twitter as of now is the only social networking site that has been included in iOS. Twitter will be included in the Shared Links, searches and linked with Siri. Apart from this, there will be a music station on Apple’s iTunes Radio over which the track that is popular on Twitter will be played. Social networking site is integrated on iOS7 but not deeply integrated.

iOS 7 Release At Apple’s WWDC

At WWDC, held last week, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) declared the release of iOS 7 and defined the new features that iOS 7 will contain; however, the light was not thrown on some details. Last week, developers were shown initial beta of iOS 7. It is expected that the company will keep on updating the developers. Many developers keep on updating about the tricks, updates and features that they have found out and are expecting that the new operating system will have all these features.

The date of the release has not been announced by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), but it is expected to release this fall along with the launch of the next iPhone. The beta version of iOS 7 is not available for iPads. It will be in the new iPhone and the latest version of iPods.
