The Lumia 928 has been adapted to Verizon’s CDMA network, and the black version of it sold out almost immediately with Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ). It was also very popular at Radio Shack Wireless.
Can Nokia Handle The Demand?
Of course some may be concerned about supply issues because of what happened with the first Lumia handsets which landed on the market about six months ago. But so far analysts believe that Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) is much better prepared for the demand this time around.
The Lumia 928 is available in just two colors, and Nokia used a more common AMOLED screen. Both solutions should make supply go much more smoothly this time around, which means Nokia has an excellent chance to make some headway in the smartphone market.
Preorders Of Nokia’s Lumia 925 Begin
The Finnish handset maker also just began accepting pre-orders for its new Lumia 925 handset through Vodafone in Germany. The handset is selling for just €80with a two-year contract, which makes it extremely competitive in the market.
The Lumia 925 has a metallic body and is sleeker and lighter than the 920 and has a smarter camera. It’s still too early to tell how the pre-orders are going, but if sales of the 928 are anything to go by, the 925 ought to do just as well, if not better.
