As talk about the iPhone 6 heats up, we’re seeing concept after concept pop up from virtually every corner of the globe. This one says it’s going to have an edge-to-edge screen, while that one says it’s going to be more of a phablet than a phone. Others say it will be water and dust resistant. Still others say we could see a less expensive version of the iPhone 6 with a plastic case.
iPhone 6 Clues From Corning
There’s even a new rumor about what the iPhone 6 has in store for us, and it’s cropped up courtesy of comments made by Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) executive Jeffrey Evenson. Mac Rumors’ Eric Slivka interviewed Evenson about Corning’s campaign to debunk the claims that Sapphire’s screens were better than the Gorilla Glass ones made by Corning. He was also trying to refute claims that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) was going to shun Corning and opt for Sapphire glass instead for the iPhone 6.
At this year's annual Robin Hood conference, which was held virtually, the founder of the world's largest hedge fund, Ray Dalio, talked about asset bubbles and how investors could detect as well as deal with bubbles in the marketplace. Evenson highlighted the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as the future smartphone cover. He said it takes “about three times more force” to break the glass than it does to break Sapphire’s glass. The glass is also flexible enough to handle even the curved glass screen Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has filed a patent for.
iPhone 6 Concepts Everywhere
So whether or not Envenson’s comments about Gorilla Glass 3 have anything to do with the reality of Apple’s iPhone 6, everyone has an idea about what the iPhone 6 should do and look like. Since the launch of the iPhone 6 seems to just keep being pushed back, we’re really starting to see some creative ideas.
One of my favorite ones to pop up recently was one created by a YouTube user who goes by the name of Sonitdac. Mashable’s Chelsea Stark wrote about the video, and I initially dismissed it because it really seems like it’s out of left field. But that’s part of what makes it so cool.
The Coolest iphone 6 Concept I’ve Seen Yet
The concept shows an iPhone 6 with a screen that flips up. The screen also projects a large keyboard on the desk that users can actually type on and the Mac desktop up in the air, giving the appearance of a full desktop computer via projections from the iPhone 6.
What Would Your Dream iPhone 6 Look Like?
Now we’ve had no indication that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is planning anything nearly as elaborate as this video shows, but it got me thinking. With all the iPhone 6 concept videos that are floating around right now, it seems like everyone is dreaming about what the device would do if they could design it.
If you could have the most out-of-this-world device that did everything you could ever want, what would that be? If the iPhone 6 isn’t already in the final stages of design, maybe Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) can pick up some ideas from its users.
