The iPhone 6 is the center of an endless string of rumors right now, and there’s one that’s strangely persistent. The latest concept for the iPhone 6 involves a 3D camera, and it’s from Ran Avni and Hassen Cad. The video was uploaded over the weekend, and it isn’t the first one to show off an iPhone 6 which has a 3D camera.
Keep in mind though, that the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) handset that will revealed this summer will likely be the iPhone 5S, which would be a small refresh over the current iPhone 5. There’s a chance we won’t see the iPhone 6 until next year, especially if Apple continues to follow the same numbering pattern it has used for years.
A Full List Of Features From This iPhone 6 Concept
The iPhone 6 concept that appeared this one features a 4.8 edge-to-edge display, which is another feature we’ve seen in recent iPhone 6 concept videos. It also has a 3.2 megapixel FaceTime HD camera as well as an 8 megapixel 3D camera.
One of the problems some see with the addition of a 3D camera in the iPhone 6, especially if it’s released next year is the fading interest in shooting in 3D on smartphones. This was pointed out by Phones Review. Of course some are still interested in having a 3D camera on a smartphone, but it’s not as popular as it was.
Here’s this most recent iPhone 6 video that was uploaded to YouTube.
More Than Just A 3D Camera?
And then there’s the chance that the iPhone 6 will have a 3D camera that does more than just play back movies and take photos. According to Phones Revenue, 3D video calls may be a possibility with the iPhone 6, making the addition of a 3D camera a little more useful.
Other Possibilities For The iPhone 6
Of course there are plenty of other iPhone 6 concepts that may be more likely than a 3D camera. Water and dust resistance and flexible OLED tech might be more likely. Some are also taking the edge-to-edge display even further and intimating that it might be more of a wraparound display than a simple edge-to-edge screen.
