iOS 7: What Does It Need To Be Great

Updated on

There is a lot of pressure riding on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as they design their next generation mobile operating system iOS. There are also a lot of opinions and ideas on what iOS 7 should have. There were two recent videos shared that offer some insight as to what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) should do to improve their phone. Although none of the ideas are too exciting, the suggestions would make for a simpler experience.

iOS 7: What Does It Need To Be Great

One video titled iOS 7 Concept  shares ideas from a designer named Frederco Bianco, and it shows several interesting update ideas. Some new feature changes include a quick reply lock screen, quick reply notifications, quick settings, and quick reply alerts. Bianco’s dream iOS 7 would also take a cue from Android by adding useful widgets like a music widget, a weather widget, a calendar widget, and two app store widgets. The iOS 7 would also feature a shelf where you could download files and documents. From there, you could read them through Adobe Acrobat reader or iBooks. If you wanted to share the files, you could email or print them. Then there are the mission control features which would allow users to open up and use multiple applications.

Luke Westaway Describers iOS 7 Features

Luke Westaway from CNET UK shared his own video where he describes the features iOS 7 should have, as well as the features that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) most likely won’t have. He says iOS 7 needs better access to settings and should take inspiration from Android, which has their settings available right from the notification panel. He also thinks iOS 7 should bring the easier navigation feature found on the iPad to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Another smart feature he proposed is a kids’ mode that would allow parents to decide which apps their kids can use and block certain features from being accessed.

Moreover, this feature would allow parents to disable in-app purchasing which would prevent kids from accruing charges to their parent’s credit card bill. He added that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) doesn’t really need an overhaul nor do they need a lot of extra widgets. The good news is that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may give the iOS a few much needed last-minute changes. It’s rumored that iOS may have a flat look rather than the psuedo-3D look it currently has. This could make it look a little similar to the Windows operating system interface.  Westaway doesn’t think iOS 7 will offer widgets or a file storage system as it would take away some of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s control.
