Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) has taken an unexpected turn and launched a new 5AM-TH1N6 Constellation microwave oven on April Fool’s Day. This is first product of its kind launched by the popularly known mobile company.
The Finnish company has in its 148 years of existence has for the first time launched an oven with a large touchscreen display.

The 5AM-TH1N6 Constellation comes with a heap of features such as water-cooled, 8-core high-voltage transformer with a combined performance of 5,000 watts, eye-tracking technology. The technology stops the food from rotating when the user looks at it. The other feature includes the automatic temperature adjustment, which will depend on how hungry the user is.
The all new oven from Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) will be shipped in the second quarter for €399 for the standard model, with a mini and 10-inch models to fit into the future.
The oven has a 40 liters cooking chamber and comes with a sensitive touch display capable of being operated with oven mitts. The user can very easily select up to 25 different performance levels. The oven will be available in various colors including blue cheese cyan, lemon yellow and liquorice black.
The user can select from the various apps, sensors and a high resolution Pure Food camera, which will share pictures of ready meals with friends and family through the social network. There is also an option of rating the food and uploading comment, as well.
Olavi Huhtikuu, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s director of household innovation shared his logic behind launching the ovens and said that Nokia has been successful in extensive IPR in working with microwave radios. He further said that this product can be used by the company to challenge its direct competitors.
“Nokia has a proven track record and extensive IPR in working with microwave radios, so for us this was a logical next step…That’s why we developed the highly innovative 5AM-TH1N6 Constellation, which will revolutionize everything from single households to canteen kitchens,” he said.
The touchscreen oven is a highly innovative product from the handset maker and could mark the beginning of a whole new innovative range of items for households.
