Facebook sometimes forces annoying changes on us. First, there was Facebook timeline, which we at least had a method of disabling. Then the social network made it impossible to get around timeline and users threw in the towel. Now Facebook has a new annoying notification sound. First users need to go to Facebook.com and login. Then users need to click on “Account settings”, which can be found on the top right corner two buttons right of the HOME tab. On the drop down menu scroll down to Accounting Settings.
Under accounting click on notifications, which can be found on the far left of the screen.
Under the “How you get notifications” setting, click on the “View” button. The default setting has “All Notifications, sounds on”. Now you need to uncheck the following option “Play a sound when each new notification is received.” After you uncheck the option click on “Save Changes”.
That is all you need to do. Now you will not get that annoying sound with each new notification on Facebook.
