AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) just clarified that the Samsung Galaxy S4 16GB version will be of $199 with qualifying two-year contract. For those who want more, the 32GB version retails for just $249.99.
Pre-orders for this phone will start on April 16th.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) originally reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 would start at $249.99. The fourth generation Galaxy S smartphone is expected to be a huge seller given the fact these phones are the most popular alternative to the ubiquitous Apple iPhone.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a large 5-inch screen, high resolution of 1080p, a 1.9GHz or 1.6GHz octa-core processor, Near Field Communication, 13-megapixel rear camera, and the latest Android iOS. It is the standard for current Android phones.
Despite the new features, there are still some things that have to be upgraded, such as the Touch-wiz overlay. Fortunately, a few special features give it a more enhanced design. Although the lock screen does not feature water rippling anymore, but it does “register” your finger from a couple of centimetres which means a small beam of light follows your finger as they unlock it. Other notable features include S Translator, which allows users to translate emails instant messages or SMS messages from nine languages to English or another language. S Health is another notable feature that monitors how many miles you have walked or how many calories you’ve burned.
This smartphone is a good choice for users who want a larger smartphone with all the right features. Although many people are still waiting for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to release the iPhone 5S, this phone could prove to be a viable alternative to those who don’t want to wait.
This new phone is exciting for Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) fans who have been waiting to upgrade from the Galaxy S III. It’s sure to be a big seller in the next few weeks.
