Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad Tops The List In Tablet Satisfaction Survey

No surprise here, iPad owners are most satisfied with their tablet according to a recent survey from J.D.  Power.  The survey was aptly titled “2013 U.S. Tablet Satisfaction Study” and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s perennially popular tablet ranked 836 out of a possible 1,000.  The iPad also beat out the cheap Android imitation Kindle Fire, which ranked 829.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad Tops The List In Tablet Satisfaction Survey

The survey was conducted in February and the results were released on Thursday. This study was aimed at tablet users who owned the devices for a year or less. The satisfaction levels were based on the following criteria: performance (26 percent), ease of operation (22 percent), design and style (19 percent), features (17 percent), and cost (16 percent).

The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad scored high in four factors including performance, ease of operation, design, and features. The cheap Kindle Fire only scored well in cost.

Other interesting key findings in this survey include tablet owners who also own a smartphone are more likely (36 percent) to browse the internet on their smartphone and 27 percent of tablet claim they’re more likely to purchase a new tablet within the next year. Another key finding is that 94 percent of tablet owners were likely to purchase other electronics from the same company that made the tablet.

Kirk Parsons (J.D. Power and Associates senior director of telecommunications) adds, “It is somewhat unexpected to find that although 64 percent of tablet owners were the sole decision-maker involved in their device purchase, many of them share their tablet with someone else. It is important that manufacturers understand this dynamic and try to provide an exceptional experience for all users since this may improve future business prospects, as high satisfaction through sharing a tablet device may result in owners handing down their tablet to a family member or friend, and the likelihood of repurchasing a new tablet from the same brand and running the same operating system increases.”

This is the second consecutive study where Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reigns supreme among all tablet manufacturers. For naysayers who may think the end of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s era is near, perhaps the best is yet to come.
