This particular rumor echoes previous rumors about the new design. The iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the previous generation. It’s also predicted to have a slim bezel design like the iPad Mini.

The tablet reportedly will have a display from LG and Sharp Corporation (PINK:SHCAY) (TYO:6753), it could also have touch panels designed by TPK.

Like the iPhone, there is a lot of anticipation for the iPad. With all that anticipation comes rumors and there has been a lot of rumors regarding the upcoming iPad 5. There were initial reports that the device would launch sometime in October.

Last year Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) introduced two tablets including the iPad 3 and the iPad 4 about seven months from each other. The former was released in March and the latter was released in October. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) also released the iPad Mini, the budget-friendly alternative to the iPad.

The iPad 3 featured Retina Display whereas the iPad 4 brought even more advancements such as a FaceTime HD camera, lightening connector, A6X, and CPU.

Even though the iPad is a huge seller and a significant money-maker for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), there is some concern that the iPad Mini is outselling the larger tablet. Perhaps this is an immediate concern for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as they try to figure out what to do next to ensure that the iPad and iPad Mini sell.
