The 10th Annual Value Investor Conference is scheduled for May 2-3, 2013 and is just before the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) annual meeting kicks off.

The Value Investor Conference will be held at the University of Nebraska – Omaha, College of Business, Mammel Hall. The event gives new value investors an opportunity to interact with and learn from Warren Buffett’s CEOs, successful money managers, private investors, security analysts, stock brokers, business journalists and best-selling authors from 18 countries across the globe.

Interacting with other like-minded people, investors receive alternative perspectives and insight into the unique processes used by other successful investors. In fact, it’s a self-selected investment group that focuses on qualitative and quantitative aspects of investing.

According to the conference director Robert Miles, the conference speakers represent the Charlie Munger’s multidisciplinary approach to investing, business and management.

The founder and director of Value Investing Conference, Robert Miles has authored several books on value investing including The Warren Buffett CEO: Secrets From The Berkshire Hathaway Managers, and Warren Buffett Wealth: Principals and Practical Methods Used By The World’s Greatest Investor. Before the conference kicks in, Miles will be teaching a 3-day Genius of Warren Buffett EMBA seminar from April 29 to May 1.

The conference hosts have scheduled the event right before the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) annual meeting so that investors coming to VIC can also attend all the events of the annual meeting, which is usually held on the first Saturday of May. The key speakers at this year’s Value Investor Conference are:

A part of the conference fees goes towards various charitable contributions. In 2012, the VIC donated a total of $37,370 towards charities and education. Of that, the University of Nebraska, Omaha, received $6,000 and Girls, Inc. received $1,000 in donations.
