Samsung Galaxy S4 Photo Leaked Ahead Of March 14 Event

The Galaxy S4 has been the hot topic in the tech world recently as rumors about what it will look like continue to leak out. The unveiling date, set for March 14, is just days away, but we just can’t help ourselves, can we? We got a sneak peak at the screen shots of the device last week.

We’ve also heard that the Galaxy S4 will offer eye scrolling and that it will have a plastic back with aluminum sides. Today we have what may be the first leaked photos of the device itself.

SammyHub reports that the possible Galaxy S4 images were posted on a Chinese forum by someone who claims they are of the dual-SIM version of the Galaxy S4. The person also claims that this particular device will run on China Unicom’s network.

According to SammyHub, it’s possible that the photos could be of another prototype designed by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930), which means the final product might not look exactly like these photos. After all, Samsung has been testing several prototypes during the development of the Galaxy S4.

In addition, the company has been known to test various designed in order to prevent photos of the actual device from being leaked out. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) did something similar in the development of the Galaxy S3.

Also as you can see from the photos, the device does look a bit like the Galaxy Note 2, and previous leaks about the design of the case have indicated that it will be less rounded like the case in these photos and more square-like. However, the photos also include a screen shot of the data information, and that information seems to match other details that have been leaked about the Galaxy S4.

For example, it shows that the device is running on Android 4.2.1, just as the S4 supposedly will. Also it’s running a 1080p full HD display with a 1.8 gigahertz processor. TechCrunch also points out that the numbering on the CPU information “suggests” that it does have Samsung’s Exynos Octa chip, as was previously rumored.

The publication also points out however, that last year a disguised version” of the Galaxy S3 was “leaked” in a different case. In addition, Engadget points out that it doesn’t look like the front-facing camera is aligned properly with the case, so maybe this isn’t the real case. We won’t find out for sure though if this is what’s happening here until later this week.
