Apple Inc. (AAPL) Brand Is Waning In Inspiration: Survey

Updated on

The Apple brand is apparently not as “inspiring” as it was three years ago, according to a recent survey. Added Value conducted a survey on some of the globe’s top brands, and while Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) continues to dominate the survey, the company is now in fifth place over all in terms of inspiration.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) Brand Is Waning In Inspiration: Survey

In the “inspiring” category of the survey, Apple’s brand has fallen and now trails behind number one Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), followed by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) and Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) (TYO:6758).

Another important thing to note from this survey is that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s reputation in the U.S. seems to be slipping. The tech giant once held a commanding lead over rival Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KRX:005930) in the U.S. smartphone market; however, Samsung has dominated the global smartphone market.

Now Samsung is seen as being on equal ground with Apple in terms of inspiration in the U.S. In fact, although Samsung’s brand still scores lower in the survey than Apple’s brand overall, Samsung’s brand is viewed more consistently around the globe, while Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s influence continues to be focused mostly in the U.S.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) ranked at the top of the survey’s rankings for “visionary” and “bold,” companies although it trails behind Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) in the survey’s ratings of “exciting” companies.

In the overall rankings across all four categories, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) came out on top, followed by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) came in third, while IKEA, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) (TYO:6758) round out the top five brands overall.
